High Fire Rocket Vessels

On the high fire vessels made at Lisa Orr's studio, I had the opportunity to make a glaze using wood ash from her rocket mass heater and clay dug up from her property. For the liner, I mixed up a tenmoku recipe she had on hand.

The pots went through a five hour rocket firing to cone 10 and were held around 1800^F on the down fire for 30 minutes, allowing for crystal growth.
